We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the Internship Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration of the Government of Yukon's Internship Program. You will work closely with departmental managers, interns, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the program and the successful development of our interns.

Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination: Oversee all aspects of the Internship Program, including recruitment, selection, placement, and evaluation of interns.
  • Recruitment and Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of talented candidates from universities, colleges, and other educational institutions.
  • Intern Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to interns throughout their placement, including orientation, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Partnership Development: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential internship opportunities and establish partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and other government agencies.
  • Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Internship Program, gathering feedback from interns, supervisors, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards, and prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and achievements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in program coordination, recruitment, or human resources management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices related to internships and workforce development.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working in a government or public sector environment is an asset.
